What can I expect in my first session?
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. You can share what brings you to therapy at your own pace, and ill explain how I work. There's no pressure- its about create a safe space together, and bringing a footing to what you would like to gain from your Counselling Journey.

Do I need to prepare for my first session?
There is no preparation from you needed at all. Simply bring yourself exactly just as you are. All emotions are welcome and you will be fully excepted with where you are at.

How many sessions will I need?
There are no fixed amount of sessions with me, and we can figure this out together as we progress in your healing journey, with what is best for you and how you feel. I offer open ended session, which means it is entirely up to you when you would like to bring your sessions to a safe close when you are ready. Some people only need a few sessions, others longer.

How long are sessions and how often?
Sessions last 50 minutes long, and this is on a weekly basis. Fortnightly sessions can be provided and this is typically towards the end of a persons counselling journey, when they feel ready to come to a safe ending that is a bit like a transition period. However fortnightly can be arranged from the start if this aligns with the ethical safety and well-being of the client. Depending on what they are bringing up for themselves and to the sessions

Is counselling confidential?
Yes. Counselling is confidential, the only exception is if I believe you or somebody else is at serious risk or harm, or if required by law- and ill always discuss this with you wherever possible.

How do I know if Counselling is right for me?
You don't need to be in crisis to come to counselling. If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or curious about yourself, counselling can enable you to connect with your own voice and find clarity.

How do I book a counselling session?
Booking a session is easy. You can either start by booking a free 15 minute curtesy call to see if you feel I'm the right therapist for you, or we can go ahead and book your first session right away. Whatever feels right. Both are bookable through the contacts page via email. I will always respond as promptly as I can, usually within 24 hours.
